The Elder Scrolls in TES Lore are powerful magical artifacts that predate the creation of the universe and contain knowledge of the past,present and future. They exist whilst simultaneously not existing. They have been described as "fragments of creation". Often have Elder Scrolls been used when making prophecies. They can be used as weapons as well, for example; the Dragon elder scroll was used to banish Alduin into the future, which also created a rift or "wound" in Time. There are three in Skyrim: Dragon, Blood and Sun.
